Vol. 403 No. 2

Written Answers. - ESB Study.

Séamus Pattison

Question:

32 Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for the Environment if he has been consulted by the Minister for Tourism and Transport, the Minister for Energy and the ESB regarding the ESB study which recommended the transfer of a part of the function of Dublin city's port to a new port facility to be constructed in North Dublin which would contain lo/lo and ro/ro installations; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A copy of the report of the study carried out by the ESB on their own initiative on port infrastructure in Ireland was sent to my Department last June by the Department of Energy but I have not been engaged in any consultation about the report. Policy on port development is a matter for the Minister for the Marine in the first instance.
