Vol. 403 No. 3

Written Answers. - Celbridge (Kildare) Estate Disposal.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

84 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if there is any difficulty in reaching a conclusion to the sale of Lyons Estate, Celbridge, County Kildare; if any underbidder or overbidder at the public auction has been in contact with the vendors; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

As the Lyons Estate is the property of the authorities of University College, Dublin it would not be appropriate for me to comment on the details of the auction.

Question:

85 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if any redundancy/early retirement offers have been made to staff/employees at Lyons Estate, Celbridge, County Kildare; if so, when; if she will indicate the terms of such offer; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

A voluntary redundancy/ early retirement scheme was approved for certain staff at the Lyons Estate in May 1990. The terms were in accordance with the standard provisions of public service voluntary redundancy/early retirement schemes.
