Question:31 Mr. Taylor asked the Minister for Education if approval can now be given for a sports hall at Killinarden community school, Tallaght, Dublin 24; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The funding of all post-primary building projects is dependent on the availability of capital resources and on my Department's other commitments and priorities.
The position is that at present there are many applications before my Department for the provision of new schools and extensions to provide much needed teaching accommodation and it has been necessary to commit the available resources to addressing this need. In the circumstances, I am not in a position to indicate when funds will be available for the provision of a sports hall at Killinarden community school.
