Question:87 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Finance the estimated cost to the Exchequer in 1991 of adjusting income tax bands and personal allowances to allow for inflation.
Written Answers. - Adjustment of Tax Bands.
It is estimated that each 1 per cent adjustment in income tax bands and personal allowances to allow for inflation would cost approximately £9.3 million in 1991 and £15.5 million in a full year. These figures are provisional and are likely to be revised.
