Vol. 403 No. 8

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

Michael Noonan

Question:

27 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in transferring certain staff of the Revenue Commissioners to Limerick, Ennis, County Clare, and Nenagh, County Tipperary; and if he will outline the up-to-date position on this aspect of the Government decentralisation programme and set out target dates for the completion of the transfer.

There has been no delay with the decentralisation projects at Ennis and Nenagh. Both schemes are under way and are due for completion in August and November 1991, respectively. The Revenue Commissioners will then make arrangements for the transfer of staff. With regard to Limerick, the Commissioners of Public Works are examining a number of options for providing accommodation in that city.
