Question:

84 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Finance the estimated amount of tax forgone by the Exchequer in 1990 arising from (a) mortgage interest relief, (b) health insurance relief, (c) life assurance relief, (d) relief for payment to pension funds, and the estimated amount which the Exchequer will forego in 1991.

The following table sets out the information requested in terms of income tax year 1990-91.

The estimates are provisional and are likely to be revised.
