Vol. 403 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Donegal Coastal Erosion.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

48 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Marine if his attention has been drawn to the serious coastal erosion problem at Protnoo, County Donegal, which is endangering a golf course, caravan park, agricultural land and domestic dwellings; if he has been furnished with a report on the situation and if he intends allocating funds to carry out emergency protective measures.

I recently approved a grant to Donegal County Council, from the exceptional storm damage fund, for repairs to a sea wall in the area of Portnoo.

My Department has no other plans for protection works in the Portnoo region.
