Vol. 403 No. 9

Written Answers. - Roscommon Road Improvements.

John Connor

Question:

70 Mr. Connnor asked the Minister for the Environment if, in view of the deficient alignment and deficient sight distance and in view of a number of recent fatal accidents on the Ballaghadreen section, he intends to allocate funds for major improvements to the national primary road N5 sector between Strokestown and Carracastle, County Roscommon, in his Department's 1991 major road works programme.

The financing and phasing of major road improvement projects generally in the period to 1993 has been considered in the context of the preparation of the operational programme on peripherality, which was approved by the EC Commission last August. This programme will be published later this week.
