100 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will indicate the total number of applications received seeking additional milk quotas from the one million gallon EC milk allocation; and when decisions will be made in respect of these applications.
The Milk Quota Appeals Tribunal, specially appointed by me to carry out this task, received some 5,000 applications for additional quota from the one million gallons reserve which was set aside for hardship cases. The tribunal has almost completed its examination of these applications and it expects to inform the individual applicants of its decisions within a matter of weeks.
