Question:

212 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Education if Causeway comprehensive school, County Kerry, could qualify for an additional teacher, on the basis of widespread social disadvantage in its catchment area.

An additional teaching post for schools serving disadvantaged children has been allocated by my Department to the County Kerry Vocational Education Committee under the terms of circular letter 27/90 in respect of the needs of Causeway vocational school. The vocational education committee have been notified of this decision.
