Question:217 Tomás Mac Giolla asked the Minister for Education the number of vocational schools in which an ex-quota remedial teaching post has not been sanctioned.
Written Answers. - Remedial Teaching Posts.
There are currently 247 vocational schools in operation. Ex-quota remedial and ex-quota remedial-guidance whole-time teacher equivalent posts have been allocated to the vocational education committees by my Department for the current session with particular reference to the needs of 132 vocational schools.
In the case of the remedial-guidance posts these were sanctioned under the terms of my Department's circular letter 23/86 and the nature of the post was left to the discretion of the vocational education committees.
