Vol. 404 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Frank Crowley

Question:

203 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive moneys owed under the 1989 sheep headage and the ewe premium scheme; the reason payment of a sheep subsidy was not made to him in 1984; when payment will issue under the 1988 calf premium scheme; and the reason for the delay in issuing an underpayment under the 1989 cattle headage scheme.

Due to an error, the first and second instalments of the 1990 ewe premium paid to this applicant related to only 35 animals, instead of the 49 animals adjudged eligible. The balance due will be paid as soon as possible.

The applicant was paid the full amount due to him under the 1984 ewe premium scheme. He did not qualify for sheep headage payments that year because at the time his lands were not situated in an area designated as disadvantaged.

The payments due to the applicant under the 1989 calf premium scheme and as a result of the underpayment in the case of the 1989 cattle and equines headage scheme will issue shortly.
