Vol. 404 No. 4

Written Answers. - Advertising and PR Expenditure.

Nuala Fennell

Question:

237 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for Energy if he will outline the expenditure in 1990 in his Department on advertising and public relations including bulletins, newsletters, public information and leaflets; and the amount which was paid to external or non-public service consultants.

In 1990 my Department spent a total of £119,000 on various publicity measures. Of this total, £81,000 was spent on energy-related publicity, principally the promotion of energy conservation, the farm electrification grant scheme and statutory press notices, while a total of £38,000 was spent on the promotion of private afforestation.

No payments were made to non-public service public relations consultants during 1990.
