Question:

266 Mr. Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) asked the Minister for Social Welfare (a) the number of recipients of the living alone allowance as at 1 January, 1991 and (b) the number of those who are living in Dublin city.

Some 86,400 people nationally are in receipt of a living alone allowance. Of these some 22,400 are paid in Dublin city and county. Details of those being paid to people in Dublin city are not available.
