The table below sets out by grade and number of staff in areas for which I have responsibility who availed of maternity leave in 1989 and 1990. In addition to staff serving in my Department, the figures include staff serving in the Land Registry and Registry of Deeds, the Courts, the Legal Aid Board, the Prison Service and An Garda Síochána.
