285 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Communications if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there will be an increase in telephone charges in 1991; and whether Telecom Éireann have approached his Department to consent to these increases.
Telecom Éireann have not sought my approval for an increase in telephone charges in 1991 and I understand the company have no proposals in mind for increases in charges.
Telecom Éireann have submitted to my Department proposals for the construction of a more equitable, balanced charging system than exists at the moment and my Department is at present examining these proposals.
