108 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will outline the expenditure in 1990 in his Department on advertising and public relations including bulletins, newsletters, public information and leaflets; and the amount which was paid to external and non-public service consultants.

Minister for Foreign Affairs (Mr. Collins)

A total of £590,000 was incurred by my Department on their information activities in the course of 1990. The bulk of this expenditure was incurred in connection with the media-related arrangements for the Irish Presidency of the European Communities.

No public relations consultants were employed by my Department in 1990.
