Question:

124 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will outline the precise geographical catchment of the male and female employment exchanges covering the northside of Dublin city.

The catchment areas of the employment exchanges in Dublin city are based on An Post's postal districts. While all of the employment exchanges are within the north city boundaries, parts of their catchment areas may extend beyond.

As the programme to modernise employment exchanges progresses, catchment areas are reviewed with a view to improving the service to the clients. There are five employment exchanges serving the northside of Dublin city. They are located at Navan Road, Ballymun, Kilbarrack, Lower Gardiner Street and North Cumberland Street. The current catchment areas are set out hereunder.

The Ballymun office deals with men and women from those parts of districts 9 and 11 bounded by St. Margaret's Road, Santry Avenue, Swords Road, Shanowen, Collins Avenue Extension, Silloge and Poppintree.

The Kilbarrack, office deals with men and women from district 13 and that part of district 5 bounded by Kilbarrack Road, James Larkin Road, Watermill Road, Raheny Main Street, Station Road, Woodbine Estate, Tonlegee Road and Kilbarrack Road.

The Lower Gardiner Street office deals with men from district 5, excluding the area served by Kilbarrack, district 9 excluding the area served by Ballymun, district 11, excluding the area served by Ballymun, and district 17.
The North Cumberland Street office deals with women from district 5, excluding the area served by Kilbarrack, district 9, excluding the area served by Ballymun, district 11, excluding the area served by Ballymun, and district 17. It also deals with men and women from districts 1 and 3.
The Navan Road office deals with men and women from district 7 and district 15.
