Vol. 404 No. 9

Written Answers. - Driving Test Appeal.

Colm M. Hilliard

Question:

175 Mr. Hilliard asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make a statement on the case of a person (details supplied) in County Meath who appealed a decision of a driving test inspector a year ago, but who has not received a reply to date.

A test arranged for this person on 24 January 1990 was not carried out because his vehicle did not display a current tax or insurance disc. He contacted the Department's offices in Ballina shortly afterwards and a letter was issued informing him that his fee was forfeited and that a fresh application would have to be lodged. No such application has been received.
