Question:

216 Tomás Mac Giolla asked the Minister for Education if she will outline, based on school enrolments in September 1990 the number and proportion of national school pupils being taught in classes of (a) less than 20 pupils, (b) 20-30 pupils, (c) 30-38 pupils, and (d) 39 or over.

Enrolment data in respect of the current academic year are in the process of collection and preliminary analysis by my Department at present and, consequently, corresponding data are not yet available in respect of the 1990-91 academic year.

I will be pleased to forward the information to the Deputy when it is available.
