Vol. 404 No. 9

Written Answers. - Toxic Waste Disposal.

Eric J. Byrne

Question:

59 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Education the regulations which have been laid down for disposal of waste products from universities and colleges with whom responsibility lies for arranging the disposal of toxic or dangerous chemicals or other materials; and the monitoring system she has for ensuring that the regulations are adhered to.

The regulation that would apply to universities and colleges would be those which apply generally to all bodies involved in the disposal of toxic or dangerous chemicals or other materials. Responsibility for all aspects of such regulations would be for the Minister for the Environment.
