Vol. 404 No. 9

Written Answers. - Income Tax Rebate.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

78 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance if an income tax rebate is due to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare in respect of the year ended 5 April 1989; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that there is no refund of tax due to the taxpayer for the income tax year 1988-89. During that year he was employed as a seasonal worker. This employment finished in August, 1988. A balancing statement, indicating the refund due, was issued to him on 23 September, 1988 and a cheque in respect of all tax deducted was issued on 4 October 1988.
