Vol. 404 No. 9

Written Answers. - Archaeological Site Preservation.

Godfrey Timmins

Question:

89 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Finance the steps he is prepared to take to preserve St. Crispins Cell, Greystones, County Wicklow, in the light of recent archaeological finds at the site.

St. Crispin's Cell has been registered as a national monument since 1976 and is thus protected. I understand that the development proposed in the vicinity of the monument is the subject of a current planning appeal to An Bord Pleanála, the outcome of which is awaited.
