75 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the rate of tax free allowance applicable to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; if he is due a rebate of income tax following a period of unemployment; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer was unemployed for periods in the tax years 1989-90 and 1990-91. His liability for the year 1989-90 has been reviewed. A cheque for an overpayment of £77.29 will be issued to him within the next ten days.
There is an underpayment of £29 in the year 1990-91 and this amount will be collected by his employer.
