Vol. 405 No. 3

Written Answers. - Wealth Tax.

Séamus Pattison

Question:

53 Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for Finance the estimated revenue yield to the Exchequer if the wealth tax, which was abolished in 1977, was still in force; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that figures are not available which would enable them to furnish a reliable estimate. Wealth Tax yielded £5.8 million in 1977.
