Question:159 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications the proportion which customers receipts formed as part of the revenue for running the railways for each year since 1987.

In the years 1987, 1988 and 1989 customer receipts accounted for 50 per cent, 52 per cent and 54 per cent, respectively, of total railway revenue, including State subvention for essential public transport services. Statistics are not yet available in respect of 1990.
