Vol. 405 No. 4

Written Answers. - Aer Lingus Subsidiaries.

Ivan Yates

Question:

161 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications if he will give details of each of the subsidiaries of Aer Lingus under the following headings as of the latest published accounts, (a) total borrowings to date, (b) profit and loss accounts, (c) level of of employment, (d) estimated value of assets and (e) net worth.

The data referred to by the Deputy is consolidated in the audited annual accounts covering the business activities of Aer Lingus plc and Aerlinte Éireann plc and published in aggregate form. The information involved is, in many cases, of a commercially sensitive nature. It would not, therefore, be appropriate for me to provide such level of detail in respect of each individual subsidiary company.

If the Deputy requires specific information in relation to any particular subsidiary company, I would suggest that he should contact Aer Lingus directly in the matter.
