Question:

84 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when an EC suckler grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

Payment due to this applicant under the 1990 suckler cow scheme is being processed and will issue shortly.

Question:

86 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of grants approved under the programme for pollution control to applicants in County Monaghan and which have not yet been paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 85 and 86 together.

I assume the Deputy is referring to cases where work has been certified but the grant has not yet been paid. There are 66 such cases under the farm improvement programme and 50 under the control of farmyard pollution measure. All these cases are being processed for payment at present.

Joe Sherlock

Question:

87 Mr. Sherlock asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the FEOGA grants paid in 1989 and 1990 to the Mitchelstown Co-op Society, County Cork, including the bacon factory.

All FEOGA grant payments in 1989 and 1990 were made directly by the EC Commission to beneficiaries. It would be a breach of commercial confidentiality to disclose information on the position of any individual company vis-á-vis the Commission.
