Vol. 405 No. 5

Written Answers. - Celbridge (County Kildare) School.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

107 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the urgent need for the provision of extra facilities at St. Wolstans Holy Faith secondary school, Celbridge, County Kildare; the reason for the continued delay in the provision of these facilities; whether she expects to be in a position to allow the work to proceed in the current year; whether the proposed schedule of facilities has been in any way altered; and if so, to what extent; if there is any compelling reason the project should not proceed immediately; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware of the accommodation needs of St. Wolstans Holy Faith secondary school. At the request of the school authorities, discussions are continuing in this regard and the most recent meeting took place only last week. In the circumstances, pending the outcome of these discussions with the school authorities, it is not possible to indicate how the proposed building project will progress.
