Vol. 405 No. 9

Written Answers. - Killarney National Park Jaunting Car Service.

Michael Moynihan

Question:

75 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Finance if the Office of Public Works have any proposals for the re-siting of the existing jaunting car stand at the entrance to the National Park, Killarney, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Killarney management plan which was launched last year identifies the need to re-site the existing jaunting car stand at the main entrance to Killarney National Park.

The Office of Public Works in conjunction with Kerry County Council and Killarney UDC are preparing proposals on the jaunting car service in Killarney which will improve safety and will enhance visitors' enjoyment of this unique resource. They hope to meet with representatives of the jarveys to outline their proposals once these are finalised.
