Vol. 406 No. 3

Written Answers. - Water Supply Schemes.

Paul McGrath

Question:

225 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for the Environment when he expects work to commence on providing water supplies at (1) Annagh, Ballykeeran, County Westmeath and (2) Ballymore, County Westmeath; and if he will outline the current position on each of these proposed schemes.

Contract documents were approved for the Athlone regional water supply scheme on 24 October 1990. This scheme will provide water storage facilities at Annagh for the Athlone town water supply scheme.

Contract documents were approved for the north-western low level section of the Mullingar regional water supply scheme on the same date. This scheme will provide a water supply to Ballymore.

It is now a matter for Westmeath County Council to seek tenders for these schemes.
