277 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Defence if he will take the necessary steps to receive into his care and display at an appropriate site the bust of the former chief of staff of the Defence Forces, Michael Collins, which is currently housed at the Hugh Lane Municipal Art Gallery; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There has been no approach by the Municipal Art Gallery to my Department in this matter. Should an offer materialise it will be given due consideration.
