Vol. 406 No. 3

Written Answers. - Vat Rebate.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

127 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in having a VAT rebate made to a company (details supplied) in County Cork; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that this matter has been ongoing for two years.

I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that three VAT claims which were submitted by the company in respect of the taxable periods September-October 1989, November-December 1989 and March-April 1990 were formally disallowed by the inspector of taxes after audit and the company was informed of this in writing.

I am further advised that a VAT refund in this case cannot be made until the company's VAT affairs are in order.
