Vol. 406 No. 4

Written Answers. - PSV Licences.

Bernard Allen

Question:

119 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Justice the number of applications received in the Cork Carriage Office for PSV licences; and the number issued in the years 1988, 1989 and 1990.

The number of public service vehicle licences, which comprise licences for taxi, hackney, large public service and small public service vehicles, issued by the Garda authorities in Cork city for the years referred to in the question are as follows, 1988, 849; 1989, 785 and 1990, 980. The Garda authorities have informed me that they are not in a position to indicate the exact number of licence applications refused by them in this period, but they have indicated that on average, these amount to about four per year.
