Vol. 407 No. 3

Written Answers. - Stainless Steel Imports.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

142 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the amount of stainless steel products imported in 1990 including for domestic and industrial use; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is not possible, due to tariff classification reasons, to provide accurate aggregated data relating to imports of all stainless steel products.

Imports statistics are available in relation to imports of stainless steel in primary form and semi-finished products of stainless steel. The following table sets out the relevant data for the period January to November 1990 which is the latest period for which such data is available.
