Question:

149 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of recipients, together with their adult and child dependants, of old age contributory and retirement pensions with (1) 48 contributions and over; (2) 36-47 contributions, (3) 24-35 contributions and (4) 20-23 contributions in the years 1985 to 1991 inclusive.

The information requested by the Deputy, in so far as it is available is given below. Information for years prior to 1989 is not available. A breakdown of child dependants by contribution bands is not available.
