Question:

161 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Justice if he has any plans to renovate and extend Falcarragh Garda station, County Donegal; the current stage of planning on this project; and when it is envisaged that work will commence.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 160 and 161 together.

As I indicated in reply to Parliamentary Question No. 155 on 27 November 1990, it is proposed to build a new Garda station at Falcarragh, County Donegal. At this stage it is not possible to say when work will commence on the project but there will be no avoidable delay. In the meantime, certain improvement works were carried out to the existing Garda station in January of this year.
