Question:164 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Justice the number of break-in incidents which were reported to gardaí in the Cork city area in each of the years from 1987 to 1990 and to date in 1991.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 163 and 164 together.
The number of burglaries at dwellings — including houses, flats, etc. — in the Cork city area which were recorded by the Garda Síochána for each of the years 1987 to 1990 is set out in the following table. Figures for the period since the beginning of 1991 are not yet available. The figures sought for convictions for burglaries at dwellings are not readily available and could not be obtained without the expenditure of an excessive amount of Garda time.
