Written Answers. - Unemployment Statistics.

Dinny McGinley

36 Mr. McGinley asked the Taoiseach the total number of people under the age of 25 registered as unemployed in each month from November 1990 to March 1991.

The information requested by the Deputy is as follows:

Number of persons under 25 years of age of the live register

November 1990

December 1990

January 1991

February 1991

March 1991

Seán Barrett

37 Mr. S. Barrett asked the Minister for the Marine the reason aquaculture licences have not been granted to companies (details supplied), applications for which were lodged more than a year ago and for which the proper procedures have been followed; when it is proposed to grant licences; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department are currently finalising their processing of these licence applications, which had remained inactive for some time due to the emphasis, primarily for environmental reasons, on the licensing of finfish projects.

I would expect that the relevant licences will issue, subject to final clearance, within the next two to three weeks.
