Vol. 407 No. 5

Written Answers. - Carysfort (Dublin) School.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

60 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the arrangements which have been made to facilitate Carysfort national school, County Dublin, with a playing area in the grounds of Carysfort College; and if this has been made a condition of the sale of the college to UCD.

In accordance with the Rules for National Schools, it is a matter for the authorities of Carysfort national school, County Dublin, to acquire any site extension to the school. I understand from the Higher Education Authority that UCD has given the national school authorities an option on the land in question and that discussions are continuing in the matter.
