Vol. 407 No. 6

Written Answers. - Speech Therapist Appointment.

Colm M. Hilliard

Question:

146 Mr. Hilliard asked the Minister for Health when will he appoint a full-time speech therapist to St. Mary's Special School, Athlumney, Navan, County Meath, as this service is urgently required by the school; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Despite their best efforts the North-Eastern Health Board have not been able to recruit speech therapists. The board are contributing to the training costs of two speech therapists who have contracted to work for the board for a minimum of one year. They will be available later in the summer.
