Vol. 408 No. 1

Written Answers. - General Practitioner Services.

Donal Carey

Question:

92 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Health whether it has been drawn to his attention that capital grants to extend services available in doctors' surgeries are not being made widely available to doctors; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware of the fact that some health boards have had difficulty meeting claims by doctors under this arrangement. The future operation of this arrangement was an issue for consideration within the first review of the new contract for participating doctors, which concluded recently. The review report is currently under consideration in my Department and by the Irish Medical Organisation.
