Vol. 408 No. 4

Written Answers. - Fishing Licences.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

48 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for the Marine if he will list the lakes and rivers in State ownership for which a licence is required to fish; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Fishing licences where they apply operate without distinction as to whether the waters in question are State owned.

Various agencies of the State own or manage significant fishing rights throughout the country. In some cases fishing permits or other charges are levied. These are generally managed by fisheries boards or other State agencies.
