Vol. 408 No. 4

Written Answers. - Income Tax Rebate.

Michael Bell

Question:

53 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Finance when an income tax rebate will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that, as the repayment due to the taxpayer amounts to only £1.03 for the period to 3 May 1991, the inspector of taxes does not propose to make a repayment at this stage.

If the taxpayer is still unemployed at the end of this month he may lodge a further claim for repayment. The £1.03 will be added to any repayment due at the end of the month and a cheque for the full amount issued. If the taxpayer commences employment in the meantime he will be given the benefit of the £1.03 in his tax-free allowance certificate.
