Written Answers. - Fishing Boats' Arrests.

Question:

37 Mrs. Barnes asked the Minister for the Marine if he will outline (1) the number of fishing boats which were arrested off our coast since the beginning of this year, (2) the reason for the arrest and (3) the action which followed.

The total number of fishing boats arrested since the beginning of this year was 28. These were arrested in connection with various alleged breaches of the fisheries Acts. Each case has been or is at the moment the subject of due legal process.
