Vol. 408 No. 8

Written Answers. - County Development Teams.

Jim Higgins

Question:

28 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Finance if he is prepared to consider making an individual allocation to county development teams to enable them to promote commerce, industry and enterprise within their respective areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A total sum of £1.2 million is available in the current year for county development work in the counties covered by the western development fund. These moneys are drawn on by the various county development teams for the purposes mentioned by the Deputy. I regard the amount as adequate for the purposes for which it is intended.
