88 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Defence the officer strength in each command of the FCA on 31 January 1991.

The number of officers of the FCA serving in each command on 31 January 1991 was as follows:

Eastern Command

Question:

89 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Defence the pay allowance cost of the Permanent Defence Force personnel attached to the FCA.

In 1990 the pay and allowances of Permanent Defence Force personnel serving with the FCA amounted to approximately £14 million. The personnel concerned are, in many cases, carrying out other duties in the Permanent Defence Forces in addition to their training functions with the FCA.

90 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Defence the total cost of the FCA inclusive of attached Permanent Defence Force members.

In 1990 the total cost of the FCA (including the pay and allowances of the Permanent Defence Force personnel serving with the FCA) was approximately £18 million. Such personnel are, in many cases, carrying out other duties in the Permanent Defence Forces in addition to their training functions with the FCA.
