Vol. 409 No. 3

Written Answers. - Portlaw (Waterford) School.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

65 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the renovations which her Department propose the carry out to the existing Portlaw boys' national school, County Waterford in conjunction with the provision of the extension to the school; if she will further outline the new furniture which will be provided for the existing school building; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Work commenced on the two-classroomed extension at Portlaw boys' national school, County Waterford, in October last. The contract for this work includes, inter alia, the conversion of one of the existing classrooms into a teachers' room and library/medical room, painting works and extension of the new electrics and heating system to the existing school.

The chairman was authorised last April to seek tenders for essential additional furniture for the school.
