Vol. 409 No. 4

Written Answers. - Natural Gas Grid.

James Leonard

Question:

183 Mr. Leonard asked the Minister for Energy whether the route of the natural gas line west of Dundalk, County Louth has yet been defined.

The proposed pipeline will run from Skibbolmore, County Louth, through Ardee, to Mullagh in County Cavan with spur lines to serve industrial customers in Virginia and Bailieborough. In accordance with normal engineering practice on cross country pipelines, minor adjustments or refinements to the route may be made prior to construction which is expected to commence in the autumn and be completed early in 1992.
