Vol. 409 No. 5

Written Answers. - Kilkenny Cattle Tests.

Liam Aylward

Question:

76 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny has not yet been notified by his Department of the result of tests on cattle in his herd in late January 1991 for clenbuterol; if his Department will communicate with this person, as a matter of urgency, to enable the sale of clear cattle to be effected; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Analyses of the samples in question confirmed the presence of clenbuterol and the herdowner was informed accordingly.

Clear cattle have been moved from the herd for slaughter under permit by arrangement with the herdowner.
